Incredibly unproductive this weekend, at least when it comes to the academic realm. Drafted a letter to a beloved old friend, spent 10 straight hours playing video games with a new. Slept. A lot. With classes completed (and finals looming) it seems as if my brain decided that the weekend was the most opportune time to knock me out. Can't say I didn't need the rest, but I'm sure my grades would have preferred it if I spent the time studying. C'est la vie; I'll drop by a coffeeshop this afternoon for a change of scenery to spur productivity. Switching locations often does me a world of good.
Visited this half-plant nursery half-interior design showroom over the weekend. Do always love dropping by; find such comfort in the interplay of mirrors, nature and interesting decor. Couldn't resist snapping a few photos to capture the space, so face reveal of sorts I suppose, at least on Tumblr. Have been letting my hair grow out lately, mostly just because I'm too lazy to schedule a proper haircut; it's long enough for a little bun now. Still quite short so I'm being a bit dramatic about it all, but it's nice being able to enjoy having longer hair again. Deconstructing my personal hang-ups with gender and hair has been a long and arduous process. Struggled for a long time with the feeling that I needed to crop it shorter and conform with Western masculine gender ideals in order to be taken seriously. Strange, that something so simple defines others perceptions of us so much.

so happy for everything taika waititi’s doing for queer, Polynesian, and jewish rep and I think his work is amazing but as soon as one of his projects disappoints anyone slightly all this weird idolization is going to be such a god awful wreck

Victorian lady fantasies are better shared, so I went to the very same spot of the park I was in yesterday, this time with my sister. We spent a few quiet hours reading, save from the curious dogs that would visit us from time to time (shout out to Emily, the toy poodle that jumped right in my sister's lap <3). Good day :)
